Datganiad diweddaredig ynglŷn â Brexit

Mae'r sefyllfa Brexit yn Nhŷ'r Cyffredin yn llanastr. Llanastr a grëwyd gan Lywodraeth y DU a'r Prif Weinidog. Ychydig iawn sydd wedi newid ers fy niweddariad diwethaf.

Updated Statement on Brexit

The Brexit business in the House of Commons is a mess. It is a mess of the UK Government’s and the Prime Minister’s making. Since my last update, little has changed.

Extensions, Division & Gridlock

We were told by the leaders of the Leave the EU Campaign that a deal to leave and a trade agreement would be quick and easy. Those leaders are now either senior Tory Government ministers or failed ex-ministers. They are presiding over the most chaotic UK Government in living memory. The stakes are high for our communities and for our country.

Jobs, the local economy and recognising industry in Wales

I led two extensive delegations to meet government ministers and local company representatives from REHAU. It was a cross party delegation which included the university and also specialists on the regional economy. We met both the secretary of state for BEIS (Business Energy and Industrial Strategy) Greg Clark, secretary of state for Wales, Alun Cairns. Also present were ministers of state, MPs and officials to focus on the Anglesey and north Wales economy. On the agenda were the suspension of Wylfa Newydd and the possibility of enhancing projects identified in the north Wales growth deal and sector deals in the UK Governments industrial strategy. It was important to present a united approach from Anglesey with local and Assembly politicians and myself as the MP working with local, Welsh and UK governments. Greg Clark agreed to visit the Island and work with us to enhance the economy.

People – Brexit & Welsh Affairs

Politics is about people and in recent weeks it has been a delight to welcome so many constituents to the Houses of Parliament. It is always good to host residents from Anglesey – Môn Mam Cymru – the Mother of Wales, to the mother of Parliaments.

Brexit Flags

We had another series of Brexit votes to break the Parliamentary deadlock and it led to another government defeat. The Prime Minister still tells us she is carrying on with her flawed deal. Frankly she is simply running down the Brexit clock and trying to tweak her flawed deal and put this and a possible no deal with the EU before Parliament. Playing chicken with this serious issue.

Mae Arweinydd y Tŷ a'r Llywodraeth wedi canslo yr egwyl Seneddol Mis Chwefror, sef 18fed - 22ain Chwefror.

Felly rwyf wedi trefnu wythnos lawn yn y Senedd ac wedi canslo fy apwyntiadau yr yr etholaeth, byddaf yn aildrefnu cyn gynted ag y bo modd. Mae'n ddrwg gennym am unrhyw anghyfleustra a achosir.

The Leader of the House and the government have cancelled the February Parliamentary Recess i.e. 18th-22nd February.

I have therefore arranged a full week in Parliament and I have cancelled my constituency appointments which I will rearrange as soon as possible.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thank You
