“Today, the Prime Minister
Theresa May has signaled that a General Election will take place on June 8th.
This after repeatedly saying she would not call a snap election and it was not
in the country’s interest to do so. Her statement and U-turn today is purely
partisan and opportunistic.”
“That said, if a June election goes ahead, I will fight to retain the seat that I have been proud to serve since 2001 and continue to put the interests of the whole Ynys Môn community first. I will look to unite the community and work with those of other political persuasion and of none, as I have always done.”
“I have gained a strong reputation for bringing people together and have the experience to navigate our communities and Island through these uncertain times. I thank all those who have already sent their support to me.”
“A General Election should be about the interests of our communities and the country and not about the interest of the Prime Minister and her party.”
