RUNNING DOWN THE BREXIT CLOCK, POLICING, BANK CLOSURES & CANCER TREATMENT

We had another series of Brexit votes to break the Parliamentary deadlock and it led to another government defeat. The Prime Minister still tells us she is carrying on with her flawed deal. Frankly she is simply running down the Brexit clock and trying to tweak her flawed deal and put this and a possible no deal with the EU before Parliament. Playing chicken with this serious issue.

Mae Arweinydd y Tŷ a'r Llywodraeth wedi canslo yr egwyl Seneddol Mis Chwefror, sef 18fed - 22ain Chwefror.

Felly rwyf wedi trefnu wythnos lawn yn y Senedd ac wedi canslo fy apwyntiadau yr yr etholaeth, byddaf yn aildrefnu cyn gynted ag y bo modd. Mae'n ddrwg gennym am unrhyw anghyfleustra a achosir.

Diolch

Westminster Matters - February 2019

Anglesey First ‘ Backstop and No Deal and Tolerence

At these difficult of times it is important to focus on local communities and their most important assets-local people. I started the week at the REHAU plant in Amlwch when the company explained its reason for its proposed closure. I was joined by representative of the local authority, Welsh government and the UK government and we all offered help and support to the Company and local workforce to retain operations on the Island.

Datganiad ar Wylfa

Os yw’r sibrydion a’r sïon yn y wasg yn wir, bydd hyn yn ergyd fawr i’r rhanbarth cyfan a Chymru.

Byddaf yn rhoi pwysau ar y llywodraeth i roi eglurder gan ei bod yn rhanddeiliad mawr yn y prosiect. Hoffwn wybod a oes yna gynllun B ac a yw Brexit yn ffactor, yn sicr mae’r llywodraeth yn ymddangos fel pe bai wedi colli ffocws yma.

Mae Llywodraeth Cymru ac awdurdodau lleol wedi buddsoddi llawer o amser, arian ac ymdrech yng Nghynnig Twf y Gogledd a gall nifer o brosiectau pwysig yn ymwneud ag Wylfa fod yn y fantol nawr.

Mae Wylfa Newydd yn cynnig cyfleoedd anferth o ran swyddi a gyrfaoedd, gyda nifer y swyddi ar ei huchaf oddeutu 6,000-8,000, a nifer fawr o swyddi anuniongyrchol eraill yn y gadwyn gyflenwi ehangach.

Byddaf yn parhau i weithio gyda rhanddeiliaid ac yn drawsbleidiol ar y mater hwn.

New Year’s Message – Jan 2019

There will be no prizes for guessing what will be the main political subject of 2019. Of course, it’s Brexit. I have been clear on my position. I respected the result of the 2016 referendum because it was the right thing to do. I voted for Article 50 to seek a deal that safeguard’s jobs, security and the prosperity of our Island community, Wales and the UK. In the 2017 General Election I said I would fight for a sensible Brexit with access to both the Single Market and a Customs Union.
